Join us for an interactive workshop on how democracy works in the age of AI, organised by the Young AI Leaders | Geneva Hub and co-organised with Geneva Macro Labs. It addresses the topic of lethal autonomous weapons as a subject of democratic debate.
Votation 2032 – The Synthetic Campaign. The year is 2032. A Geneva cantonal initiative will go to the ballot in three months: it asks the canton to stop supporting companies that develop autonomous weapons systems. Three months of campaigning, condensed into three hours.
You play a role – the “yes” committee, the “no” committee, the authorities, the press, the public. Each group receives a mandate and limited resources, along with generative-AI tools to produce its posters and messages. So does everyone else.
Votation 2032 requires no technical knowledge and no prior opinion. Roles are assigned on the spot – you may end up defending the opposite of what you believe. The organisers take no position on the initiative: it is fictional, and it is there to be debated.
