How investors and entrepreneurs co-create value
With Dr Peter Wuffli, founder and chairman of the elea Foundation for Ethics in Globalization, and IMD Professor Vanina Farber
Investors are increasingly seeking responsible ways to harness value beyond traditional financial markets securities. Impact investment is supposed to provide a positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.
However, unlocking the potential of impact investment is still in the fledging stages: While impact entrepreneurs struggle to attract the capital and the right kind of support to scale up, investors can find it hard to pick winners or to understand the realities and risks of the impact-generating sector.
Dr Peter Wuffli and Prof Vanina Farber co-authored “The elea Way”, a new book on impact investing. The authors argue that unleashing the potential of impact investment, requires a new investor mindset and better integration between entrepreneurship and capital.
